The militant group Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) was carried out attacks on Iraqi territory. The British government decided to ban the Sunni militant group.

Security Minister James Brokenshire told the UK parliament Britain, terrorism-related civil war in Syria "will bring a threat to the UK in the future". According to him, by banning the group means sending a "strong message".
With this prohibition rule, then anyone who becomes a member or invite support ISIL and four other related groups Syrian conflict, will be subject to a criminal offense. Even this rule also applies to anyone wearing or carrying objects that indicate public support for the ISIL.
ISIL previous militant groups based in Syria and join the fight against the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. But lately, the Sunni militants launch attacks in northern Iraq to successfully master a number of cities, including Mosul. Even now the group continues to move closer to Baghdad, the Iraqi capital.
"Syria is the number one destination for jihadis anywhere in the world. Prohibition sends a strong message that terrorist activity is not tolerated wherever it occurs," said Brokenshire.
