Rescue operation at the site of the blast in the city of Soma / has ended on Saturday ( 17/5 ) after the bodies of two miners who were trapped inside had been evacuated out . Thus , the total death toll in this incident reached 301 people .
As reported by AFP on Monday ( 05/19/2014 ) , the local prosecutor alleged rule out electrical problems at the mine site as a trigger fires and explosions . The results of the initial investigation said that the fire which then led to the explosion was triggered by heating coal after contact with air contact . As a result of contact with the air , large amounts of carbon monoxide filled the existing mine under the ground .
" A total of 25 people have been arrested , including the head of the company and three of them have been charged with reckless murder , " said prosecutor Bekir Sahiner .
Of the 25 people arrested , as many as six people have been released but did not rule out the possibility they will be tried later . While the rest are still detained reportedly interrogated local authorities .
Separately , Dogan news agency reported that three men were charged under the murder charge is Director of Mining Operators Komur Soma , Akin Celik and their two mining engineers .
Previously the company Soma Komur has denied the existence of negligence in the incident . " We all worked very hard . I have never seen an incident like this in the last 20 years , " said Celik .
Separately , the Turkish Ministry of Labor also denied any negligence in this incident . The ministry insists that the location of the mine routinely inspected every 6 months .
However, the local newspaper , Milliyet who claims to have seen a preliminary investigation report , said that there are a number of safety violations at the mine site , including the lack of carbon monoxide detection facilities and ceiling made of wood instead of metal .
