News : 16 Afghan Police Killed in a Day

Kabul - The rebels have killed 16 policemen in Afghanistan within the last 24 hours and even beheaded eight of them .

The villagers in Zabul province , southern Afghanistan on Tuesday, May 20th local time finding eight bodies without heads . They are eight local police were kidnapped two weeks ago .

This was stated by deputy governor of Zabul province , January Rassoulyar Mohammad told AFP on Wednesday ( 21/05/2014 ) .



The policemen were abducted by the militants after the attack on the convoy of police vehicles .

According to the deputy police chief of Zabul , Ghulam Jilani Farahi , the police were first shot and then beheaded .

So far , the Taliban militants responsible for attacks against Afghan police , has not commented on the findings of the bodies without the heads .

Still on the same day , on Tuesday ( 20/5 ) local time , at least eight policemen were killed when Taliban militants attacking security checkpoints in the province of Badakhshan , northern Afghanistan .

" The Taliban attack of the surrounding mountains with rockets and small arms . Eight policemen were killed after they were run out of ammunition , " Farahi said .

" We have sent additional personnel and ammunition to help about 40 other police officers who were still in the district Yamgan , " he added .

Deputy provincial police chief , Abdul Qadir Sayad confirmed the attack . He said that 13 Taliban militants were also killed in the incident .
